An Antidote to Me: Essays on Being and Becoming Whole begins with an elemental question: how to be. Moving between prose, poetry, philosophy, and personal reflection, Gadhia considers how a self takes shape, what we inherit, what we pursue, and what we come to recognize as our own.

The book traces an inward journey from striving toward presence and toward a reconciliation of mind and body, masculine and feminine, self and Self. At La Fábrica Subin, Gadhia will read selected passages and open a conversation around the question at the heart of the book: what becomes possible when we begin to know ourselves more fully?

About the artist

Kieren Gadhia is a writer whose work explores consciousness, selfhood, and the ways identity and belief shape how we understand ourselves. Moving between philosophy, poetry, and personal inquiry, his writing draws from years of solitude, literary study, silent Vipassana meditation, and time in the Brazilian Amazon.

Gadhia is the author of An Antidote to Me: Essays on Being and Becoming Whole. Across his work, he returns to questions of attention, transformation, and what it means to live with a deeper awareness of oneself.
